Ashley's Island House has a special place in Put-in-Bay history.
As one enters the drive at Ashley's Island House, our Put-in-Bay Island, OH accommodations, one travels over the same road that was used by prominent citizen and builder George Gascoyne. He built the house as a single family dwelling in 1863. It was converted to a boarding house in the late 1800's for officers from ships that were in port. George Gascoyne also designed and built The Village Hall as well as some of the island's most stylish buildings.
Ashley's Island House is within steps of the heart of Put-in-Bay, Ohio's fine shops, restaurants, entertainment, Catholic and Episcopal Churches and other historical buildings. Enjoy a leisurely walk around the island and explore its interesting history. Take a bike ride along the countryside and tour our local winery. Climb to the top of Commodore Perry's International Peace Memorial or visit his famous cave. Enjoy fishing; this is the Walleye capital of the world. Stroll along the lake, go swimming, boating, or rent a golf cart to travel around this fascinating island.
Hardwood floors, lofty windows, paddle wheel fans, and antique furniture and lighting recreate a warm and comfortable 19th Century feeling in each of the thirteen guest rooms of our country inn. A variety of accommodations are offered to fill our guests' specific requirements; whether you are traveling for business or on vacation, you'll find your lodging needs most comfortably met. For the comfort of our guests, Ashley's Island House is centrally heated and air conditioned. A large continental breakfast is provided to all guests and served in our main dining room. Ashley's enjoys hosting special events and catering to wedding parties, small businesses and other groups. Please visit us!

Alright, this was the first trip to put-in-bay for my wife and I. Been in Ohio since 2003. We chose to stay at Ashley's island house because a former co-worker, Dave Schafer bought the place. This is a warm charming and very comfortable B&B just steps from downtown. We were not sure what to expect from Put-in-bay, but Dave and his mom will show you the ropes if your new and give you pointers if your an old hat to the island. The beds were comfortable and the atmosphere extremely welcoming. Breakfast was great with scrambled eggs and sausage. I highly recommend considering a stay with Dave and his Mom. They have bikes and carts if you really need them and a lot to do at the house.
This place is simply amazing. Overly accommodating and such a great location
The owners are such wonderful people and I can tell they really want to create an atmosphere where they know their guests and want to create lasting memories
We will not be staying anywhere else on the island
Wonderful B&B and within walking distance to the main attractions in downtown PIB . Bob and Judy left it in good hands with the new owners . Thanks Dave and Laurie for taking good care of Ashleys . See you next year at Pyrate fest 2018.
